Katarina Krišto (born 20 March 2002) is a Croatian judoka. She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Career She won the 2021 European Junior Judo Championships in 2021, and won bronze at the European Open in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2023. She won bronze at the 2021 World Judo Juniors Championships in May 2023, in Italy. That year, she triumphed at the Grand Prix in Dushanbe in 2023. She won a silver at the 2024 Judo Grand Slam Paris in 2024. She won a bronze medal at the 2024 Judo Grand Slam Antalya. She then won gold at 2024 Judo Grand Slam Astana. She competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the Women's 63 kg. She defeated Miku Takaichi on the way to reaching the semi final. is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in a Japanese martial arts ''ippon'' or ''waza-ari'' contest, usually judo, karate or jujutsu. ''Waza-ari'' in judo A ''waza-ari'' is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in judo, the others being a '' yuko'' (advantage) or, formerly, a ''koka''. An ''ippon'' would be the highest score, that once awarded, ends the match in favor of the athlete who scored it. The referee raises his arm laterally parallel to the ground to award ''waza-ari''. Its value is higher than any other sum or combination of lower scores. No matter how many ''yuko'' or ''koka'', when time runs out, a ''waza-ari'' still counts more.
