Kasper Roug (born 6 June 1979 in Nakskov) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Social Democrats political party. He was elected into parliament at the 2019 Danish general election. Political career Roug has been a member of the municipal council of Lolland Municipality since 2018. Folketing
The Folketing ( da, Folketinget, ; ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament, called the Rigsdag; the upper house was Landstinget. It meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. The Folketing passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. Zealand ( da, Sjælland) is one of the 12 multi-member constituencies of the Folketing, the national legislature of Denmark. The constituency was established in 2007 following the public administration structural reform. Nakskov
Nakskov is a town in south Denmark. It is situated in Lolland municipality in Region Sjælland on the western coast of the island of Lolland. The town has a population of 12,495 (1 January 2022). To the west is Nakskov Fjord, an inlet from the Langeland Belt (''Langelandsbælt'') that runs between the islands of Lolland and Langeland. Nakskov Fjord is a wildlife reserve, known for its bird life. History Nakskov is in the inner part of the Western inlet of Lolland, one of the agriculturally richest of the Danish islands. The Social Democrats ( da, Socialdemokraterne, ) is a social democratic political party in Denmark. A member of the Party of European Socialists (PES), the Social Democrats have 50 out of 179 members of the Danish parliament (following the latest Danish general election held in 2022), Folketing, and three out of fourteen MEPs elected from Denmark. 2019 Danish General Election
General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 5 June 2019 to elect all 179 members of the Folketing; 175 in Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. The elections took place ten days after the European Parliament elections. The elections resulted in a victory for the "red bloc", comprising parties that supported the Social Democrats' leader Mette Frederiksen as candidate for Prime Minister. Lolland Municipality
Lolland municipality (on the island of Lolland) is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Sjælland in Denmark. According to ''Municipal And Regional Key Figures'' (www.noegletal.dk) it covers a total area of 885.40 km² (341.85 square miles) and has a population of 40,022 (1 March 2022;45.20 inh./sq.km/117.06/sq.mi.). The western part of Guldborgsund Municipality, the southernmost in Denmark, occupies the eastern part of the island (''Østlolland''). Astrid Krag (born 17 November 1982 in Vejle) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Social Democrats political party. She served as the Minister of Social Affairs and the Interior in the Cabinet of Mette Frederiksen. She previously served as Minister of Health and Prevention in the Cabinet of Helle Thorning-Schmidt from October 2011 until January 2014.
