Kasi Yathirai (1973 Film)
''Kasi Yathirai'' () is a 1973 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film, directed by S. P. Muthuraman and written by V. C. Guhanathan. Soundtrack was composed by Shankar–Ganesh. The film stars V. K. Ramasamy, Srikanth and Suruli Rajan with Kumari Padmini, Jaya, Manorama (in dual role), M. R. R. Vasu and Cho Ramaswamy in supporting roles. Kamal Haasan worked under Thangappan as his dance assistant in this film. It was released on 10 June 1973, and ran for over 100 days in theatres. Plot Paramasivam Pillai ( V. K. Ramasamy) is an unmarried Hanuman devotee that insists on his niece Uma ( Kumari Padmini) and nephew Ramu (Srikanth) also remaining unmarried. Ramu is in love with Seetha (Jaya) but is too cowed by his uncle to marry her. His friend Shankar ( Suruli Rajan) enters their home posing as a Hanuman devotee to try to change Paramasivam's mind. Manorama (Tamil Actress)
Gopishantha (26 May 1937 – 10 October 2015), better known by her stage name Manorama, also called Aachi, was an Indian actress, playback singer and comedian who had appeared in more than 1000 films and 5000 stage performances and several television series predomninantely in the Tamil language until 2015. She was a recipient of the Kalaimamani award. In 2002, Government of India awarded Manorama the Padma Shri for her contribution to the arts. She received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film ''Pudhiya Padhai'' (1989) and Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South (1995). Panchanathan Arunachalam (22 March 1941 – 9 August 2016) was an Indian writer, director, producer and lyricist who worked in Tamil cinema. He was mentored by poet Kannadasan who was his uncle. He also worked as a lyricist in the Tamil cinema industry. He started producing films under his production banner named P. A. Arts. His son Subbu Panchu Arunachalam is an actor and dubbing artist in the Tamil film industry. Tiruchirapalli Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (born 29 October 1931 – 18 July 2013) was an Indian poet who is the highest songs wrote lyricist in cinema and whose works were in Tamil, had a five-decade long association with the Tamil film industry, wrote over 15,000 songs. Gopalarathnam, known by his stage name Typist Gopu, was an Indian actor known for comedy and supporting roles. He acted in over 600 stage plays and 400 films. Career A native of Manakkal, Lalgudi in Trichy district, Gopalarathnam was active in college dramas during his B. Com. from Vivekananda College, Chennai and got introduced to the stage through his friend Nagesh in his drama troupe in 1955.
