Karl Grob
Karl Grob (30 May 1946 – 20 April 2019) was a Swiss professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Grob is considered to be a legend for Zürich, as he was there for 20 years and helped the team win a total of five Swiss Super Leagues and four Swiss Cups. Professional career Grob was a left-winger with FC Küsnacht before switching to a goalkeeper. Grob is the record holder for FC Zürich in appearances in the Swiss Super League, in European tournament, and in total appearances. International career Grob made seven appearances for the Switzerland national football team, the first in a 4–0 Euro 1968 qualification loss to Italy on 23 December 1967. Death Grob died of heart failure on 20 April 2019 in Zürich, at the age of 72. Küsnacht
Küsnacht is a municipality in the district of Meilen in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. History Küsnacht is first mentioned in 1188 as ''de Cussenacho''. Earliest findings of settlement date back to the stone age. There are also findings from the Bronze Age. During Roman times, a mansion was located on the commons. It was called ''fundus Cossiniacus'' which is probably the origin of the name of Küsnacht. In the 7th century the name was recorded as ''Chussenacho''. The coat of arms shows a golden cushion on a red background. It is probably a derivate of the coat of arms of the aristocrats of Küssnacht am Rigi. In the Middle Ages, the land was governed by the House of Regensberg who lived in the castle of Wulp in Küsnacht. After 1531 Küsnacht was governed by Zurich. These were the top 12 teams from the previous 1973–74 season and the two newly promoted teams Luzern and Vevey-Sports. The championship was played in a double round robin. Overview The Swiss Football Association was reforming the Swiss football league system this year, reducing the number of teams in the Nationalliga A from 14 to 12 and increasing the Nationalliga B teams from 14 to 16. Therefore, three teams were being relegated and only one promoted. These 14 teams were the top 12 teams from the previous 1974–75 season and the two newly promoted teams Biel-Bienne and La Chaux-de-Fonds. The champions would qualify for the 1975–76 European Cup. Reigning champions Zürich ran away with the title, they won the championship with 44 points, five points clear of second placed Servette and ten points clear of third placed Basel.
