Karimuddin Bharsha was a Jatiya Party (Ershad) politician and the former Member of Parliament of Rangpur-1 & Rangpur-4. Early life Bharsha was born in Haragache, Kaunia Upazila, Rangpur District. Career Bharsa was elected to parliament from Rangpur-1 as a Jatiya Party candidate in September 1991. The by-elections were called after Ershad, who was elected from five constituency including Rangpur-1, chose to resign and represent Rangpur-3. Bharsha was elected to parliament from Rangpur-4 as a Jatiya Party candidate in 1996 and 2001. Rangpur-1 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh since 2014 by Moshiur Rahman Ranga of the Jatiya Party (Ershad). Boundaries The constituency encompasses Gangachhara Upazila and wards 1 through 8 of Rangpur City Corporation. History The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non political and non profit research organisation registered under both Society Act of 1864 and NGO Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. Rangpur ( bn, রংপুর) is a district in Northern Bangladesh. It is a part of the Rangpur Division. Rahim Uddin Bharosha (1934-2020) was a leading Bangladeshi entrepreneur and former Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament of Extinct Rangpur-10 (now Rangpur-4) seat. Birth and early life Rahim Uddin was born in the house of late Moner Uddin Paiker and Mosammat Nabijan Nesa in Rangpur District in 1934. Jatiya Party (Ershad)
The Jatiya Party ( bn, জাতীয় পার্টি, translit=Jatiyo Party, lit=National Party) is a conservative, nationalist political party in Bangladesh and is currently the main opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad, against the Awami League. The current chairman of the party is Ghulam Muhammad Quader. On 3 January 2019, the party announced its decision to join the Bangladesh Awami League-led Grand Alliance after having been in opposition for the previous parliamentary term. However, the party backtracked the next day and announced that it intended to remain part of the opposition. Currently, it holds Rangpur out of Bangladesh's 12 city corporations.
