Kumite is the part of karate in which a person trains against an adversary. The 2022 World Games were an international multi-sport event held from July 7 to 17, 2022, in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. They were the 11th World Games, a multi-sport event featuring disciplines of Olympic sports and other competitions that are not currently contested at the Olympic Games; the Games featured 3,600 athletes competing in 206 medal events over 30 sports. Thomas Scott (born January 9, 1990) is an American karateka. He won one of the bronze medals in the men's 75 kg event at the 2021 World Karate Championships held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He is also a two-time gold medalist in the men's 75kg event at the Pan American Games, both in 2015 and in 2019. He won the silver medal in this event at the 2011 Pan American Games.
