Karanja Assembly constituency is one of the 288 constituencies of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha and one of the three which are located in the Washim district. It is a part of the Yavatmal-Washim (Lok Sabha constituency) with the adjoining Yavatmal district along with five other Vidhan Sabha assembly constituencies, viz. Washim(SC), Ralegaon (ST), Yavatmal(ST), Digras and Pusad. Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha
The Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha or the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the legislature of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated in the Nariman Point area of South Mumbai in the capital Mumbai. Presently, 288 members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected from the single-seat constituencies. The members of the upper house, the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad (the legislative council) are indirectly elected through an electoral college. Sessions The budget session and the monsoon session are convened in Mumbai whereas the winter session is convened in the auxiliary capital Nagpur. 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Election
The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority. Following differences over the government formation, the alliance was dissolved, precipitating a political crisis. The Nationalist Congress Party ( NCP) is one of the nine national parties in India. The party generally supports Indian nationalism and Gandhian secularism. Rajendra Sukhanad Patni
Rajendra Sukhanand Patni (19 June 1964 – 23 February 2024) was an Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Karanja constituency from Washim District in Maharashtra. He was also the member of legislative Council from 1997 to 2003.
