Karaganda Children's Railway (Kazakh language, kazakh: Қарағанды балалар темір жолы, ''Qaraghandy balalar temir zholy'') is a narrow gauge children's railway in Karaganda (or Qaraghandy) in Kazakhstan. The long track has a gauge of . It has two railway stations with wooden station buildings. It was inaugurated on 1 May 1957 as one of the many pioneer movement, pioneer railways in the Soviet Union. Children's Railways
A children's railway or pioneer railway is an extracurricular educational institution, where children interested in rail transport can learn rail transport, railway professions. This phenomenon originated in the Soviet Union, USSR and was greatly developed in Soviet times. The world's first children's railway was opened in Gorky Park (Moscow), Gorky Park, Moscow, in 1932. At the breakup of the USSR, 52 children's railways existed in the country. Many children's railways are still functioning in post-Soviet states and Eastern European countries. Many exhibit railway technology not seen anymore on the main lines and can be seen as heritage railways. Even though few exceptions exist, most children's railways built in the Eastern Bloc have a track gauge of at least and can carry full size narrow gauge rolling stock. Aksakal
Aqsaqal or aksakal (literally meaning "white beard" in Turkic languages) metaphorically refers to the male elders, the old and wise of the community in parts of Central Asia, the Caucasus and Bashkortostan. Traditionally, an aqsaqal was the leader of a village or aul until the Soviet times. Acting as advisors or judges, these elders have or had a role in politics and the justice system in countries and tribes. For instance, there are ''aksakals'' courts in Kyrgyzstan. Qostanai Children's Railway
Kostanay ( kz, Қостанай, Qostanai ) is a city located on the Tobol River in northern Kazakhstan. It was known as Nikolayevsk (russian: Николаевск) until 1895 and then as Kustanay (russian: Кустанай) until 1997. Kostanay is the administrative center of the Kostanay Region. As of 24 March 2022, the city's governor is Marat Zhundubayev. History Kostanay was founded by Russian settlers in 1879 and named Nikolaevsk, in honor of Tsar Nicholas II.
