Kano State House of Assembly is the state legislature of Kano State, Nigeria. The Kano State House of Assembly is one of the arms of Kano State Government which comprises the Executives, Judiciary and the legislatives, House of Assembly are the legislatives of Kano State. The Chamber and the offices of the Members are located at Abdu Bako Secretariat in the state capital, Kano Municipal. The House of Assembly is currently under the Leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC). There have been nine different house of assemblies the very first one was inaugurated 2 October 1979 and the present one was inaugurated 7 June 2019. There are forty members of the State House of Assembly, that represent forty-four local government areas in Kano State. Kano State
Kano State (Hausa: ''Jihar Kano''جىِهَر كَنوُ) (Fula: Leydi Kano 𞤤𞤫𞤴𞤣𞤭 𞤳𞤢𞤲𞤮𞥅 ) is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the northern region of the country. According to the national census done in 2006, Kano State is the most populous in Nigeria. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, (born 22 June 1962) is a Nigerian politician, economist and teacher from Kano state who served as speaker in Kano State House of Assembly between 2017 and 2018. Early life and education Ata was born on 22 June 1962 in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State. He attended Fagge Primary School between 1968 and 1975, then attended Aminu Kano Community Commercial College between 1975 and 1980. Ata obtained Bachelor of Science in Economics and Masters in Development Studies from Bayero University, Kano (BUK) in the year 1984 and 2001 respectively. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum is a Nigerian politician and businessman from Kano State who serves as the speaker of Kano State House of Assembly from 2015 - 2017 and 2018 - 2019.
