Kampong (field Hockey Club)
Sportvereniging Kampong Hockey (; ), also known as SV Kampong or simply Kampong, is a Dutch field hockey club based in Utrecht. It was founded in 1902, making it the second oldest hockey club in the Netherlands. Both the men's and the women's 1st XI compete in the Hoofdklasse, country's top-tier league. The men's team won the league in 2017, after 32 years without a national title, after a clash with Rotterdam. They have also competed in the Euro Hockey League. Etymology The term 'Kampong' is Javanese in origin. Having hundreds years of relationship with Java island (especially during the Dutch colonialism on Indonesia), Javanese language influenced some vocabulary in Dutch language. The term ꦏꦩ꧀ꦥꦸꦁ​ (''kampung'', ) literally means "village" in Javanese, it refers to the historical fact that these hockey club was once played in the villages in Java. Bjorn Kellerman
Bjorn Kellerman (born 25 May 1990) is a Dutch former field hockey player who played as a forward. Club career Kellerman started playing hockey at Zeewolde. He then played for Amersfoort and in 2009 he moved to SCHC. After three seasons with SCHC he made a transfer to Rotterdam. With Rotterdam he won their first national title in the 2012–13 season. In 2015, he moved to Kampong, where he won the Euro Hockey League in his first season. In January 2022, he announced he would leave Kampong after seven years at the end of the season. Jonas De Geus
Jonas de Geus (; born 29 April 1998) is a Dutch professional field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Kampong and the Dutch national team. Club career De Geus started playing hockey at Almere where he went through all the youth ranks until he made his debut for the first team. In April 2019, he announced he would leave Almere at the end of the season. One month later he signed a four-year contract at Kampong. In the 2022–23 season he won the Golden Stick as the best player of the season. Lars Balk
Lars Balk (; born 26 February 1996) is a Dutch professional field hockey player who plays as a defender or midfielder for Kampong and the Dutch national team. Club career Balk started playing hockey at the age of five at his local hockey club MHC Vianen. When he was 12 years old and wanted to play on a higher level, he switched to Kampong. He made his debut for the first team of Kampong when he was 17 years old. Balk played in all four matches in the 2014–15 Euro Hockey League, where they were eliminated in the quarter-final. Jip Janssen (born 14 October 1997) is a Dutch professional field hockey player, who plays as a defender for Kampong and the Dutch national team. Club career In the Dutch Hoofdklasse, Janssen plays for SV Kampong. Before he joined Kampong he played in the youth ranks of Naarden. International career Under–21 In 2016, Janssen made his debut for the Netherlands U–21 side in a four nations tournament in Hannover, Germany. David Harte (field Hockey)
David Harte (born 3 April 1988) is an Ireland men's field hockey international. He captained Ireland at both the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup. He was also a member of the Ireland team that won the bronze medal at the 2015 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship. At club level, he was a member of the SV Kampong team that won the 2015–16 Euro Hockey League. Roelant Wouter Oltmans (born May 25, 1954) is a Dutch field hockey coach who is the current head coach of Kampong first men's team. Earlier he coached the Larensche Mixed Hockey Club men's team. He coached the Netherlands men's, India men's, Pakistan men's , Netherlands women's teams and Malaysia men's team . Career His first major prize was with the Netherlands women's team. Malou Pheninckx (born 24 July 1991) is a Dutch women's field hockey player who currently plays as a midfielder for Netherlands women's national field hockey team. She also pursued her higher education at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in the field of medicine. Ayeisha McFerran (born 10 January 1996) is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final.
