Kaj Steveman
Kaj Steveman (born 1968 in Stockholm) is a Swedish visual effects supervisor. He was the Founder and head of Fido Film, one of Sweden's most prominent special effects studios and is most known for his acclaimed work on the Swedish vampire films Let the Right One In and Frostbite. He was also visual effects supervisor for Underworld: Awakening and Storm and worked as assistant director in the cult film Evil Ed. He worked as a make-up artist on The Hunters. Kaj left Fido November 2014. In February 2015 he founded the new, modern VFX studio FABLEfx Still focusing on organic effects like CG animals and creatures. In the context of film and television production, a visual effects supervisor is responsible for achieving the creative aims of the director or producers through the use of visual effects. While it is a creative role, most supervisors possess a strong technical background and are capable of making informed decisions about the most efficient and effective technique to employ to solve the problem at hand. Often a supervisor will work in tandem with a visual effects producer and computer graphics supervisor. ''Kung Fury'' is a 2015 English-language Swedish martial arts comedy featurette film written and directed by David Sandberg. It pays homage to 1980s martial arts and police action films. The Circle (2015 Film)
''The Circle'' (original title: ''Cirkeln'') is a Swedish fantasy directed and co-written by Levan Akin, based on the best-selling novel '' The Circle'' by Sara Bergmark Elfgren and Mats Strandberg, the former of whom also co-wrote the screenplay. It was produced and scored by ABBA member Benny Andersson. The film was intended to be the first in an trilogy of films based on ''Engelsfors'', though plans of the sequels have been cancelled. A film adaptation was to be produced by Filmlance in 2013, with Levan Akin set to direct and Bergmark Elfgren as script writer. The production was put on hold due to disagreements between the authors and Filmlance. Akin left the project as well. Benny Andersson's son Ludvig brought the novel to his attention and he bought the rights to produce the film, more faithfully than Filmlance intended, however the film still has significant differences from the original novel. ''Shed No Tears'' ( sv, Känn ingen sorg) is a 2013 Swedish film directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein and starring Adam Lundgren and Jonathan Andersson. The plot is based on the lyrics and music by Swedish artist Håkan Hellström, and the script is written by Cilla Jackert. The film premiered on 19 July 2013 and was well received by critics. It won the Guldbagge Award for Best Sound Editing at the 49th Guldbagge Awards. The main role is played by Adam Lundgren, while Tomas von Brömssen, Gunilla Nyroos and Josefin Neldén appear in supporting roles. Even Håkan Hellström himself appears in a minor role. The film tells the story of a bullied 12-year-old boy who develops a friendship with a strange child in Blackeberg, a suburb of Stockholm, in the early 1980s.
