Kadapa–Bangalore Section
Kadapa–Bangalore section is an ongoing broad-gauge railway line project in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. It connects Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh with Bangalore in Karnataka via Kolar. History The foundation stone for this project was laid on 2 September 2010 with an outlay of 2000cr's. Construction This project will be constructed in four stages namely . Stage 1 will connect Rayachoti and stage 2 with Dharmavaram–Pakala branch line at Madanapalle and stage 3 will connect Madanapalle to Mulbagal and stage 4 last will connect Mulbagal to Kolar and last via Bangarapet to reach Bangalore. Rayachoti (also known as "Rachaveedu", "Rayachoty", and "Rajaveedu") is a town and District headquarters of Annamayya district which is formed after Rajampet (Lok Sabha constituency) of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The South Central Railway (abbreviated SCR) is one of the 19 zones of Indian Railways. The jurisdiction of the zone is spread over the states of Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh. Guntakal Railway Division is one of the three divisions of South Coast Railway zone (SCoR) of the Indian Railways. The headquarters of the division is at Guntakal and its zonal headquarters is at Visakhapatnam. This division is second in terms of route kilometres after Secunderabad railway division. Bangarapet is a town in Kolar district in the state of Karnataka, India. Bangarapet is the headquarters of the taluk of Bangarapet. Bangarapet was originally called Bowringpet, named after an officer working in the Kolar Gold Fields. This town came into existence as the connecting point of traffic between the gold fields and Bangalore. Ancient History The earliest known name for Bangarapet was Marmutlu, the British named it Bowringpet during their rule as the town was a connecting point to Kolar Gold Fields, the town was later named to Bangarapet after independence. Mulabagilu is a town and taluk headquarters of Mulabagilu taluk in the Kolar district in the state of Karnataka, India. It lies just off the National Highway 75 as the easternmost town of the state and a hill landmark. Etymology "Mulabagilu" (ಮುಳಬಾಗಿಲು) comes from the word ''mudalabagilu,'' which means the "eastern door" in the native Kannada language. Dharmavaram–Pakala Branch Line
The Dharmavaram–Pakala branch line connects Dharmavaram of Anantapur district with Pakala of Chittoor district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is under the jurisdiction of Guntakal railway division. History This branch line was built as a meter-gauge line during British Raj in India and opened for traffic in 1891.
