KTM East Coast Railway Line
The East Coast railway line (ECRL) is the single track metre gauge runs between Gemas railway station, in Negeri Sembilan and Tumpat railway station, in Kelantan of Malaysia. Gemas is the rail junction between the West Coast line and East Coast railway line. Like the West Coast railway line, it is called the East Coast railway line (Malaysia) because it serves two of Peninsular Malaysia's East Coast states, namely Pahang and Kelantan. In fact, it does not run along the coast at all and only meets the South China Sea when it terminates in Tumpat railway station. It runs through the interior, often through deep jungle, thus earning the nickname Jungle Railway. Terengganu is the only state in Peninsular Malaysia not served by the KTM railway network. Pasir Mas Railway Station
The Pasir Mas railway station is a Malaysian railway station located at and named after the town of Pasir Mas, Kelantan. It is also the starting interchange of the disused Rantau Panjang Line. A new railway station which replaced the original railway station was completed in July 2008. From Pasir Mas there is a railway straight to Kuala Lumpur. The railway starts from Gemas. From Pasir Mas, there are several small stations en route like Temangan, Tok Uban and many more. This railway also connects to Kuala Kerai Station, one of the largest stations in Kelantan. Kota Bharu
Kota Bharu, colloquially referred to as KB, is a town in Malaysia that serves as the state capital and royal seat of Kelantan. It is situated in the northeastern part of Peninsular Malaysia and lies near the mouth of the Kelantan River. Tumpat (Kelantanese: Ttupak) is a district (jajahan) in Kelantan, Malaysia. Tumpat is situated at the end of the '' East Coast Line'' railway line operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (Malayan Railways) which links Kelantan to the western part of Peninsular Malaysia. Johor Bahru Sentral (also known as JB Sentral) is an integrated transport hub in Bukit Chagar, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. KTM Class 61
The KTM Class 61 is a diesel multiple unit operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu for KTM Intercity services on non electrified sections of the KTM West Coast railway line and the KTM East Coast railway line. Background The idea of using DMUs is not new to KTMB. In 1960, the company operated diesel railcars on short distance services. The railcars operated in multiple unit formation until the mid 1970s, when they were converted into trailers and coupled with conventional diesel locomotives. Kuantan ( Jawi: ) is a city and the state capital of Pahang, Malaysia. It is located near the mouth of the Kuantan River.
