KQLA (103.5 FM "Q Country 103.5") is a radio station licensed to Ogden, Kansas. It broadcasts to the Junction City-Manhattan-Fort Riley area broadcasting with an ERP of 41,000 watts. The station is owned by Eagle Communications, which also owns stations KJCK and KJCK-FM, as well as 25 radio stations throughout Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri. History KQLA went on the air on the evening of February 14, 1986, with a Top 40 format, and competed against (now sister station) KJCK-FM and KMKF. (The station actually began airing construction sounds on February 12, while also conducting initial transmitter tests and generating curiosity in the community about its unannounced future format.) Salina, Kansas
Salina is a city in, and the county seat of, Saline County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 46,889. In the early 1800s, the Kanza tribal land reached eastward from the middle of the Kansas Territory. In 1858, settlers from Lawrence founded the Salina Town Company with a wagon circle, under constant threat of High Plains tribal attacks from the west. It was named for the salty Saline River. Saline County was soon organized around this township, and in 1870, Salina incorporated as a city. KZUH
KZUH (92.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Minneapolis, Kansas, United States, the station serves the Salina-Manhattan area. The station is currently owned by Rocking M Media, LLC, while operated by Meridian Media, LLC under a local marketing agreement. History KZUH signed on as KILS on February 24, 1993, with a country format. In 1997, Goodstar Broadcasting bought the station and it was rebranded as "92.7 The Zoo", switching to a classic rock format. At this time, the station's morning show began to grow and become popular; "The Morning Zoo" with Phill & JJ was ranked #1 in ratings. HD Radio
HD Radio (HDR) is a trademark for an in-band on-channel (IBOC) digital radio broadcast technology. It generally simulcasts an existing analog radio station in digital format with less noise and with additional text information. HD Radio is used primarily by AM and FM radio stations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with a few implementations outside North America. The term "on channel" is a misnomer because the system actually broadcasts on the ordinarily unused channels adjacent to an existing radio station's allocation. This leaves the original analog signal intact, allowing enabled receivers to switch between digital and analog as required. In most FM implementations, from 96 to 128 kbps of capacity is available. "The Christmas Song" (commonly subtitled "Chestnuts Roasting by an Open Fire" or, as it was originally subtitled, "Merry Christmas to You") is a classic Christmas song written in 1945 by Robert Wells and Mel Tormé.
