KFUPM Mathematics Olympiad
KFUPM mathematics olympiad is a national mathematics olympiad for secondary school students in Saudi Arabia organized by King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). The competition started in 2006 in one center in Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, Eastern Province then gradually the number of centers increased in the following years to include seven centers over the kingdom (Dhahran, Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Qasim, Abha, Madina, Hofuf, Al-Hasa). In its fifth and sixth edition, the competition managed to involve first and second secondary school students in addition to the third secondary grade students and introduced a center for female students in the Eastern Province. In 2015, it launched two new female centers in Riyadh and Jeddah. King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) ( ar, جامعة الملك فهد للبترول و المعادن, – short: ar, جامعة البترول ), after 1975 as the University of Petroleum and Minerals and initially as the College of Petroleum and Minerals, is a nonprofit institution in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The Eastern Province ( ar, المنطقة الشرقية '), also known as the Eastern Region, is the easternmost of the 13 provinces of Saudi Arabia. Dhahran
Dhahran ( ar, الظهران, ''Al-Dhahran'') is a city located in the Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. With a total population of 240,742 as of 2021, it is a major administrative center for the Saudi oil industry. Hofuf
