K-150 is a east–west state highway in the U.S. state of Kansas. The route begins at a roundabout with U.S. Route 56 in Kansas, U.S. Route 56 (US-56) and U.S. Route 77 in Kansas, US-77 northeast of Marion, Kansas, Marion and runs east to a junction with U.S. Route 50 in Kansas, US-50 southwest of Elmdale, Kansas, Elmdale. It runs through the Flint Hills region of Kansas, and is a two-lane road its entire length. There are no cities or towns along the road, but it provides a direct link for traffic from Marion, Hillsboro, Kansas, Hillsboro, McPherson, Kansas, McPherson and points west to Emporia, Kansas, Emporia and the Kansas Turnpike. Olathe ( ) is the county seat of Johnson County, Kansas, United States. It is the fourth-most populous city in both the Kansas City metropolitan area and the state of Kansas, with a 2020 population of 141,290. History 19th century Olathe was founded by John T. K-7 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Kansas. It is mostly a small country highway winding its way through the Osage Questas and Glaciated Regions of eastern Kansas, although a portion of the highway passes through the Kansas City metropolitan area. Significant portions of the highway overlap with U.S. Route 169 (US-169) and US-73. It also has junctions with two Interstate highways, Interstate 35 (I-35) in Olathe and I-70 in Bonner Springs. The system of auto trails was an informal network of marked routes that existed in the United States and Canada in the early part of the 20th century. Marked with colored bands on utility poles, the trails were intended to help travellers in the early days of the automobile. Auto trails were usually marked and sometimes maintained by organizations of private individuals. Some, such as the Lincoln Highway, maintained by the Lincoln Highway Association, were well-known and well-organized, while others were the work of fly-by-night promoters, to the point that anyone with enough paint and the will to do so could set up a trail.
