K. J. Dillon
K. J. Dillon (born May 11, 1993) is an American football Safety (gridiron football position), safety who is currently a free agent. He played college football at West Virginia Mountaineers football, West Virginia. Professional career Houston Texans Dillon was drafted by the Houston Texans in the fifth round (159th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was placed on injured reserve on October 19, 2016. On September 2, 2017, Dillon was waived by the Texans. Arizona Cardinals On December 7, 2017, Dillon was signed to the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad. Arizona Hotshots In 2018, Dillon signed with the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football for the 2019 season, but was waived on January 10, 2019, before the start of the regular season. In October 2019, the Houston Roughnecks drafted Dillon during the open phase of the 2020 XFL Draft. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the American football positions#Defense, defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two Halfback (Canadian football), defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. 2020 XFL Draft
The 2020 XFL Draft was the inaugural player selection process to fill the rosters of the eight teams of the 2020 reboot of the XFL. The draft was held on October 15–16, 2019, via conference call, with results released through the XFL's social media channels. Structure The XFL player allocation process was held in multiple phases, separated by position groups. The league used a "snake" format in each phase, in which the draft order reversed with each round. The draft order was shuffled for each phase as predetermined through lotteries. A draft pool of 1,000 eligible players was announced in 200-player installments the week before the draft. Alliance Of American Football
The Alliance of American Football (AAF) was a professional American football minor league. The AAF consisted of eight centrally owned and operated teams in the southern and western United States, seven of which were located in metropolitan areas with at least one major professional sports franchise. Founded by Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian in 2018, the AAF began play on February 9, 2019. The league was scheduled to have a 10-week regular season and conclude with a championship game on April 27.
