K.V.K. Ninove
KVK Ninove is a Belgian football club based in the city of Ninove, registered with the Belgian FA under matricule 2373. The full name of the club is ''Koninklijke Voetbal Klub Ninove'' (Royal Football Club Ninove) and it has green and black as club colours. The club has played for over three decades at the national level. The club set to play in Belgian National Division 1 from 2024–25 after promotion from Belgian Division 2 in 2023–24. History Already early on in the 20th century, football was organized in Ninove. Around 1908 a city team took part in a local Denderstreek league with teams from neighbouring cities. From 1913 to 1923 the club played under the name ''Sporting Football Club Ninove'', abbreviated as SFC Ninove (with matricule 176). This club dissolved however, with only a few company teams remaining, such as those linked to the factories of Union Allumettière and Fabelta. Ninove () is a city and municipality located in the Flemish province of East Flanders in Belgium. It is situated on the river Dender, and is part of the Denderstreek. The municipality comprises the city of Ninove proper and since the 1976 merger of the towns of , , , , Meerbeke, , , , , and . On 1 January 2018 Ninove had a total population of 38,692. The total area is 72.57 km2 which gives a population density of 533 inhabitants per km2. History The oldest version of the name "Ninove", ''Neonifus'' dates from the 9th century. The 2023–24 Belgian Division 2 is the eighth season of the division in its current format, placed at the fourth-tier of football in Belgium. Alan Haydock
Alan John Steve Haydock (born Uccle, 13 January 1976) is a Belgian football player of British descent who plays in the midfield. He currently plays for S.K. Halle. He started his career with Diegem Sport in the lower divisions then moved to the defunct R.W.D. Molenbeek in 1994. Haydock scored a goal on his debut against AA Gent in 1995. In 2000, he moved to R.A.A. Louviéroise, another side from the Jupiler League where he played 3 seasons, won the Belgian Cup final in 2003 and participated in the UEFA Cup matches against Benfica the following year. Denderstreek
The Denderstreek or Denderland is a region in Belgium. It is named after the river Dender. Though the river stretches over three provinces, Hainaut, East Flanders and Flemish Brabant, the region called after the river is situated in East Flanders. The Dutch word ''streek'' means region. Thus Denderstreek means the Dender Region. Most of the Denderstreek is part of the Scheldeland (Scheldtland), the rest is part of the Flemish Ardennes. Belgian Fourth Division
The Belgian Fourth Division was the lowest nationwide division in Belgian football. The division was split into four separate leagues, A, B, C and D. The team with the most points in the four leagues together was declared the overall winner. If several league winners had the same number of points, the one with the most wins was declared champion, or if that was still tied, then the one with the best goal average was declared champion. Finally, if two teams were still equal, a single match was played on a neutral ground to determine the team to be added to the palmares. Meerbeke
Meerbeke is a village in the Denderstreek in the province of East Flanders in Belgium. Administratively it is part of the municipality of Ninove. This rural community is located along the Dender River on the western border of what is known as "Pajottenland". With a total surface of 1056ha it is the second largest village in Ninove (behind Denderwindeke). With 5.888 inhabitants (in 2021) it's the most populated village in Ninove, next to the centre of Ninove itself.
