K-On!
is a Japanese four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Kakifly serialized in Houbunsha's '' Manga Time Kirara'' magazine between the May 2007 and October 2010 issues, and also serialized in Houbunsha's '' Manga Time Kirara Carat'' magazine. The manga relaunched from April 2011 to June 2012 with two separate storylines published in ''Manga Time Kirara'' and ''Manga Time Kirara Carat''. The manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press. A spin-off manga about a different band of high school girls, ''K-On! Shuffle'', began serialization in July 2018. Naoko Yamada
is a Japanese animator, television and film director. Working at Kyoto Animation, she directed the anime series ''K-On!'' (2009-2010) and ''Tamako Market'' (2013), and the anime films '' A Silent Voice'' (2016) and ''Liz and the Blue Bird'' (2018). In 2021, she directed the original net animation ''The Heike Story'' under Science SARU. The series premiered on Japanese television in January 2022. She has won multiple awards for her work, as well as become world renowned for her stylistic choices in anime. Located in Houston, the company specializes in the dubbing and distribution of Japanese animation and Asian cinema. Its post-production arm is Sentai Studios. The company has its origins in A.D.
