K-8 (Kansas Highway)
K-8 is the name of two separate state highways in Kansas, United States. The southern highway is a road, linking Oklahoma State Highway 8 (SH-8) to the town of Kiowa. The northern highway is a road, linking U.S. Route 36 (US-36) near Athol to Nebraska Highway 10 (N-10) near the town of Franklin. Route description Southern highway Classified as a major collector road, the southern K-8 is a continuation of SH-8, linking northern Oklahoma to the town of Kiowa. The LG K series is a line of mid-range smartphones which are designed, developed and marketed by LG Electronics, which run the Android mobile operating system. The K Series, which launched in January 2016 with the K7 and K10, was followed by the K4, later that same month. The K8 debuted soon after in February that year, finishing out the 2016 lineup with the K3 in August. In December 2016, LG Electronics announced the updated phones for 2017 of K3, K4, K8, K10, alongside the K20 Plus, which then released a few days later, and a "V" models for Verizon Communications. The Mazda K-series automobile engine is a short stroke 60° 24-valve V6 with belt-driven DOHC and all-aluminium construction. Displacements range from 1.8 L to 2.5 L. They all use a 27-degree DOHC valvetrain with directly actuated hydraulic bucket lifters. The K-series also features a highly rigid aluminum split-crankcase engine block design with 4-bolt mains with additional bolts securing the lower block, an internally balanced forged steel crankshaft with lightweight powder forged carbon steel connecting rods. ''K-8'' was a of the Soviet Northern Fleet that sank in the Bay of Biscay with her nuclear weapons on board on April 12, 1970. A fire on April 8 had disabled the submarine and it was being towed in rough seas. Fifty-two crewmen were killed attempting the salvage of the boat when it sank. The Schleicher K 8 (also known as Ka-8) is a single-seat glider designed by Rudolf Kaiser and built by the Alexander Schleicher company of Germany. Design and development The K 8 was derived from the earlier Ka 6 design as a simple single-place sailplane with air brakes using construction techniques similar to the Schleicher K 7, simplified for amateur construction from kits. Emphasis was on rugged construction, good climbing ability in thermals and good handling characteristics. The prototype K 8 made its first flight in November 1957 and over 1,100 were built in three main versions. The original K 8 had a very small canopy.
