Jürgen Schmude
Jürgen Dieter Paul Schmude (born 9 June 1936) is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). He was born in Insterburg, East Prussia, Germany, (now Chernyakhovsk, Russia). He was a member of the German Parliament, the ''Bundestag The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons ...'', from 1969 to 1994. From 1978 to 1981, he was Federal German Minister for Education and Science and later Federal Minister of Justice from 1981 to 1982, then briefly Minister of the Interior in 1982. The Federal Ministry of the Interior and for Community (german: Bundesministerium des Innern und für Heimat, ; '' Heimat'' also translates to "homeland"), abbreviated , is a cabinet-level ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany.
