Miss World 1993, the 43rd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 27 November 1993 at the Sun City Entertainment Centre in Sun City, South Africa. It was the first time the Miss World pageant was held in the South Africa.The pageant attracted 81 contestants from all over the world. This is the second consecutive staging of the pageant in Sun City. The winner was Lisa Hanna of Jamaica. She was crowned by Miss World 1992, Julia Kourotchkina of Russia. Sun City is a luxury resort and casino, situated in the North West Province of South Africa. It is located between the Elands River and the Pilanesberg, about 140 km northwest of Johannesburg, near the city of Rustenburg. The complex borders the Pilanesberg National Park. It is made up of a number of themed sub-resorts with hotels on each, including the original Sun City Resort, ''The Cabanas'', ''The Cascades'' and the ''Lost City'' (The Palace). Miss World Chile ( Spanish: Miss Mundo Chile) is a national beauty pageant which has been held sporadically since 1963, responsible for selecting Chile's representative to Miss World. History Chile has sent 41 representatives, has had three Miss World Semi-Finalists and One Quarter-Finalist. In 1998, Daniella Campos won the title of Queen of the Americas and in 2011 Gabriela Pulgar won the Talent Competition.
