Parkour
Parkour () is an athletic training discipline or sport in which practitioners (called ''traceurs'') attempt to get from point A to point B in the fastest and most efficient way possible, without assisting equipment and often while performing artistic-gymnastic maneuvers. With roots in military obstacle course training and martial arts, parkour includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, plyometrics, rolling, gymnastics, and quadrupedal movement—whatever is suitable for a given situation. Sébastien Foucan
Sébastien Foucan (born 27 May 1974 in Paris) is a French freerunner of Guadeloupean descent. He is the founder of freerunning and considered an early developer of parkour. Known for his views on the philosophy of parkour and freerunning, Foucan stresses the need for training in the basics of both for individual safety and to maintain a positive public perception of the activities. In 2002, Foucan featured in a television advertisement for the Nike Presto running shoe. He became known in the United Kingdom after Mike Christie's Channel 4 documentary ''Jump London'' in September 2003 and the subsequent documentary ''Jump Britain''. In addition to those programmes, Foucan appeared as Mollaka in the 21st James Bond film '' Casino Royale''. He spent three months in the Bahamas on the film. ''Yamakasi – Les Samouraïs des temps modernes'' is a 2001 French movie featuring the Yamakasi. The 2004 film ''Les fils du vent'' is a semi-sequel playing in Bangkok. ''Jump London'' is a documentary first broadcast by Channel 4 about parkour and free running in September 2003, directed by Mike Christie and produced by Optomen Television. It later spawned a sequel, ''Jump Britain'' that first aired in January 2005. Both feature documentaries were directed by Mike Christie. ''Jump Britain'' is a 2005 documentary about freerunning. Directed by Mike Christie and produced by Carbon Media, it is a sequel to Channel 4's ''Jump London''. Two of the three freerunners from ''Jump London'', Sébastien Foucan and Jérôme Ben Aoues, appear alongside the members of Urban freeflow, as they interact with landmarks all over Britain.
