Jänhijoki (river)
Jänhijoki is a tributary of Loimijoki river in Finland. Its sources are in lake Jänijärvi in the Tammela municipality in the Tavastia Proper region in Finland. It starts as river Peräjoki, flowing northwest from Jänijärvi towards Jokioinen. The name changes to Jänhijoki where the Peräjoki river and Tyytynoja creek merge. When reaching Jokioinen it flows past the villages of Jänhijoki, past Minkiö railway station where it is crossed over by the Jänhijoki railway bridge and to Kiipu before merging with river Loimijoki The river Loimijoki is a river in Finland and the longest tributary of the river Kokemäenjoki. Minkiö Railway Station
Minkiö railway station ( fi, Minkiön asema) is a neighborhood of the Kiipu village and a railway station at the Jokioinen Museum Railway, situated north of the Minkiö village on the northern shore of the Jänhijoki (river), river Jänhijoki, and on the western side of the Jänhijoki village in the municipality of Jokioinen. The neighborhood which developed around the railway station is located about eight kilometers from the center of Jokioinen and about eight kilometers from Humppila. The station building of Minkiö (Miö) was built in 1898 when the Jokioinen Railway was constructed. The name of the station has always been Minkiö, even the actual village of Minkiö is located about south of the station, near the present day Jokioinen railway station of the Jokioinen Museum Railway. Kiipu is a Finnish village of about 600 inhabitants situated close to the Highway 2 along the river Jänhijoki in them municipality of Jokioinen in the Tavastia Proper region. The village is located approximately north from the centre of Jokioinen, and about north-east of the town of Forssa. The village was selected as the ''Village of Tavastia in 2003''. The written history of Kiipu begins in the 14th century. The first map of the village was drawn in 1710. The village spreads on a large area along the river Jänhijoki and there is no real village center. The proper village of Kiipu is located about three kilometers (2 miles) from Minkiö railway station. The estate developed into the largest estate in Finland during the time of the provincial governor Ernst Gustaf von Willebrand. At the beginning of 20th century the estate had a corn mill, saw mill, a brick factory, steel plant and a sugar and syrup factory. Due to the crofters law of 1918 and the land reform law of 1945 the estate was split into more than 1500 homes and small farms.
