Justin Sumpter
Justin Sumpter (born May 22, 1996) is a former American football wide receiver. He played college football at Kennesaw State University and attended Sandy Creek High School. Early years Sumpter caught 27 passes for 423 yards and four touchdowns his senior year at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Georgia. In addition to football, Sumpter lettered in basketball and track and field. College career Sumpter led the Owls in receptions in each of his four seasons, and was named first-team All-Big South wide receiver following his sophomore, junior and senior years. His one-handed catch against Liberty in 2017 was featured as ESPN's top play of that week. Sumpter was invited to and participated in the 2019 College Gridiron Showcase college football all-star event. 2019 NFL Draft
The 2019 NFL Draft was the 84th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players for the 2019 NFL season. The draft was held on April 25–27 in Nashville, Tennessee. The first round was held on April 25, followed by the second and third rounds on April 26, and concluded with rounds 4–7 on April 27. The draft featured a record-high 40 trades, surpassing the 37 that were made in 2017 NFL Draft, 2017. Early entrants A record-high 111 eligible applicants announced their intention to enter the 2019 NFL Draft as underclassmen, which primarily included juniors and redshirt sophomores who forwent future years of college eligibility. Kennesaw State Owls Football Players
Kennesaw is a suburban city northwest of Atlanta in Cobb County, Georgia, United States, located within the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. Known from its original settlement in the 1830s until 1887 as Big Shanty, it became Kennesaw under its 1887 charter. According to the 2010 census, Kennesaw had a population of 29,783, but in 2019 it had a population of 34,077 showing a 14.4% increase in population over the past decade. Kennesaw has an important place in railroad history. During the Civil War, Kennesaw was the staging ground for the Great Locomotive Chase on April 12, 1862. College Gridiron Showcase
The College Gridiron Showcase (CGS) is an independently operated annual post-season college football event hosted each January in Fort Worth, Texas. The event consists of NFL draft prospects who have completed their eligibility in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA. CGS also hosts the Pro Gridiron Showcase for non-draft eligible free agents. The event originated as a post-season all star game in 2015, but switched to its current drill showcase and "controlled scrimmage" format in 2016. In addition to on-field drills, the event also features educational seminars including those on financial acumen and marketing.
