Justice Party (Azerbaijan)
The Justice Party ( az, Ədalət Partiyası) is a social liberal, social democratic and a progressivist political party in Azerbaijan. Its candidate Ilyas Ismayilov won 0.8% of the popular vote in the 15 October 2003 presidential elections. History Justice (Adalet) Party was created in Baku, Azerbaijan by Ilyas Ismayilov in 1993. It has been merged with Azerbaijani Democratic Party in 1996. By being recreated in year of 2000, it started to function again. 2003 Azerbaijan Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Azerbaijan on 15 October 2003. As expected, Ilham Aliyev, son of the outgoing president, Heydar Aliyev, was officially elected with an overwhelming majority in an election which international observers held not to be free or fair. Conduct Human Rights Watch stated that the "election campaign... from the beginning was heavily manipulated by the government to favor Prime Minister Ilham Aliyev, son of President Heydar Aliyev.
