Justice League Europe
''Justice League Europe'' (''JLE'') is a comic book series published by DC Comics that was a spin-off of the comic book '' Justice League America'' (which was then named ''Justice League International'' (vol. 1) for issues #7 to #25). ''Justice League Europe'' was published for 68 issues (plus five ''Annual''s) from 1989 to 1994. Starting with issue #51 the title was renamed ''Justice League International'' (vol. 2). Like ''Justice League America'', the series featured tongue-in-cheek humor but was a much more action-centric series than ''Justice League America''. The action-themed nature of the series was most overt with the series' most famous arc "The Extremists". The arc featured the JLE fighting The Extremists, a cadre of psychopathic villains patterned after Marvel Comics villains Doctor Doom, Magneto, Doctor Octopus, Sabretooth and Dormammu. Bart Sears
Bart Whitman Sears (born 1963) is an American comics artist, toy and packaging designer and author, known for his work on such books as '' Justice League Europe'', '' Legends of the Dark Knight'', '' X-O Manowar'', '' Turok'', '' Violator'', ''The Helm'' and The Masters. Career In addition to comic art, Sears has worked as a designer of action figures and packaging, most notably for Hasbro on the C.O.P.S., G.I. Joe, and World Wrestling Federation toy lines and on many of the early X-Men action figures for ToyBiz. Sears ran his own comic company briefly in 1994, called Ominous Press, which published three creator owned titles. In 2000, he joined CrossGen as an artist, and was later promoted to act as one of the company's art directors. Doctor Octopus
Doctor Octopus (Dr. Otto Gunther Octavius), also known as Doc Ock for short, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and first appeared in ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' #3 (July 1963). He is a highly intelligent, myopic, and somewhat stocky mad scientist who sports four strong and durable appendages resembling an octopus's tentacles, which extend from the back of his body and can be used for various purposes. After his mechanical harness became permanently fused to his body during a lab accident, he turned to a life of crime, and came into conflict with the superhero Spider-Man. He has endured as one of Spider-Man's most prominent villains, and is regarded as one of his three archenemies, alongside the Green Goblin and Venom.
