"Just Your Fool" (or "I'm Just Your Fool" as it was first titled) is a rhythm and blues-style song written and recorded by the American jazz and jump blues bandleader/pianist Buddy Johnson and His Orchestra in 1953. Called an "R&B anthem", the song has a big-band arrangement and his sister Ella Johnson on vocals—her "delicate and deceptively sweet phrasing was ideally suited to ballads such as this". "I'm Just Your Fool" became a Billboard R&B chart record hit, reaching number six in 1954. Buddy Johnson
Woodrow Wilson "Buddy" Johnson (January 10, 1915 – February 9, 1977) was an American jump blues pianist and bandleader active from the 1930s through the 1960s. His songs were often performed by his sister Ella Johnson, most notably "Since I Fell for You", which became a jazz standard. Life and career Born in Darlington, South Carolina, United States, Johnson took piano lessons as a child, and classical music remained one of his passions. In 1938, he moved to New York City, and the following year toured Europe with the Cotton Club Revue, being expelled from Nazi Germany. Later in 1939, he first recorded for Decca Records with his band, soon afterwards being joined by his sister Ella as vocalist. By 1941, he had assembled a nine-piece orchestra, and soon began a series of R&B and pop chart hits. Fred Below
Frederick Below, Jr. (September 6, 1926 – August 13, 1988) was an American blues drummer, best known for his work with Little Walter and Chess Records in the 1950s. According to Tony Russell, Below was a creator of much of the rhythmic structure of Chicago blues, especially its backbeat. He was the drummer on Chuck Berry's song " Johnny B. Goode". Career Below was born in Chicago, and as he put it - "grew up around nothing ''but'' music". "Hate to See You Go" (or "I Hate to See You Go") is a blues song written and recorded by Chicago blues artist Little Walter. In 1955, Checker Records released it as one of three singles by Walter that year. The song, a one chord modal blues, is a reworking of "You Don't Love Me", written by Bo Diddley and recorded one month prior. In 2016, the Rolling Stones recorded the song, which was released as the second single from their anticipated covers album '' Blue & Lonesome''. "One More Shot" is the second single taken from ''GRRR!'', the 50th anniversary compilation album by the Rolling Stones. It was premiered on BBC Radio 6 Music on 8 November 2012. The song marks the first time that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood had been in the studio together for seven years, since the recording of their last album, ''A Bigger Bang''. ''Blue & Lonesome'' is the 23rd British and 25th American studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones released on 2 December 2016. Consisting entirely of blues music, it is the band's first album to feature only cover songs. The album is also their first studio release since 2005's ''A Bigger Bang'', with its eleven-year gap being the longest between two albums from the band. Charles Douglas Musselwhite (born January 31, 1944) is an American electric blues harmonica player and bandleader, one of the white bluesmen who came to prominence, along with Mike Bloomfield, Paul Butterfield, and Elvin Bishop, as a pivotal figure in helping to revive the Chicago Blues movement of the 1960s.
