Just Like Mom
''Just Like Mom'' is a Canadian television game show which ran from 1980 to 1985 on CTV. A total of 595 episodes were taped at CFTO-TV Studios in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough, Ontario. It was hosted by Stephen Young during the show's first season, but from the second season on, it was hosted by the husband-and-wife duo of Fergie Olver and the show's creator Catherine Swing. Olver announced the series during its first season. The format was to determine which child and mother knew each other the best through answer-matching as well as the memorable Bake-off Challenge. Three teams, consisting of a young child and his or her mother (or occasionally father), competed on each episode. Repeats aired on the launch schedule for YTV in 1988, and on GameTV from 2008 to 2010. On September 22, 2009, marblemedia announced they acquired the rights to ''Just Like Mom'' and plan to create a new and updated version called ''Just Like Mom and Dad''. Catherine Swing
Catherine Swing is a Canadian television personality, actor, producer, director and former Miss Canada. Swing won the Miss Canada pageant in 1978, after having won the Miss Toronto crown while she was a student at York University. Over the next year she made public appearances in different parts of the country. She talked with the challenges of being Miss Canada with the press, most notably the lack of control over her own schedule. Swing was not able to compete in the 1978 Miss Universe pageant as had what the papers called "marriage plans". The Newlywed Game
''The Newlywed Game'' is an American television game show that puts newly married couples against each other in a series of revealing question rounds to determine how well the spouses know or do not know each other. The program, originally created by Robert "Nick" Nicholson and E. Roger Muir (credited on-screen as Roger E. Muir) and produced by Chuck Barris, has appeared in many different versions since its 1966 debut. The show became famous for some of the arguments that couples had over incorrect answers in the form of mistaken predictions, and it even led to some divorces.
