"Just Drive" is a song recorded by British singer/songwriter Alistair Griffin. It is his first official single since "You and Me (Tonight)" in 2004. It was released as a single in November 2010. The song was used by the BBC at the end of their coverage of the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in a montage showing highlights of the Formula One season,. A re-recorded version (replacing the lyrics "died a thousand times" with "lived a thousand lives") was used as the theme tune for Sky Sports F1's coverage from the 2012 season to 2018, when it was replaced for the 2019 season by Daft Punk's Outlands track from the Tron Legacy Soundtrack. Alistair Griffin
Alistair Richard Griffin (born 1 November 1977) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Already an established songwriter, he first became famous as a solo artist through his appearances on the BBC television show ''Fame Academy 2'' in 2003, where he was mentored by Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees. He subsequently had two top twenty hit singles and a top twenty album in the UK. Early career Alistair Griffin was born in Middlesbrough, England. He started singing and writing songs whilst still a student at York St. John College (now York St. John University), playing guitar and busking on the streets of York with a small band. His wide musical influences range from classic rock and Britpop, to English and American folk music. "You and Me (Tonight)" is the second single release from English singer Alistair Griffin from his debut album ''Bring It On'' (2004). "You and Me" is a romantic ballad, originally written several years earlier by Griffin and Ultra bandmate Jon O'Mahony. Griffin had never intended to record the song himself, and it was used as an album track by Dutch '' Idols'' runner-up Jim Bakkum. His album, ''Impressed'' released in August 2003, charted at #1 in the Netherlands. In late 2003 Griffin recorded his own version for inclusion on his debut album, (released in January 2004 on the UMTV label) with additional writing credits by Tom Nichol and Greg Fitzgerald, and the song was re-titled "You and Me (Tonight)". "I Wish For You the World" is a 2012 song by Games Maker Choir featuring Alistair Griffin. It was composed on the occasion of 2012 Summer Olympics by Griffin and songwriter/composer Richard Chance, who writes music for television and film. The single was released officially on 16 December 2012 as a UK Christmas single on Decca Records. The proceeds from the single went to the British Olympic Foundation and the British Paralympic Association. Sky Sports F1 is a television channel created exclusively for Sky's UK and Ireland coverage of Formula One, with Sky having a package of rights from the 2012 season to the 2029 season.
