Jurupa Valley/Pedley station (formerly Pedley station) is a Metrolink train station in the Pedley neighborhood in the city of Jurupa Valley in Riverside County, California, United States. Metrolink's Riverside Line trains between Los Angeles Union Station and Riverside–Downtown station stop here. It is located just east of Van Buren Boulevard and just north of Limonite Avenue, and has 283 parking spaces. The station is owned by the Riverside County Transportation Commission. Jurupa Valley, California
Jurupa Valley ( Serrano: ''Hurumpa'') is a city in the northwest corner of Riverside County, California. It was the location of one of the earliest non-native settlements in the county, Rancho Jurupa. The Rancho was initially an outpost of the Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, then a Mexican land grant in 1838. The name is derived from a Native American village that existed in the area prior to the arrival of Europeans. On March 8, 2011, voters approved a ballot measure, Measure A, to incorporate and form the city of ''Jurupa Valley''. The effective date of incorporation was July 1, 2011. Residents of the area had previously voted on incorporation in 1992, but rejected that measure, along with a competing ballot measure that would have incorporated Mira Loma. Pedley, California
Pedley was a census-designated place (CDP) in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 12,672 at the 2010 census, up from 11,207 at the 2000 census. On July 1, 2011, the CDP became part of the City of Jurupa Valley. History Pedley took its name from William Pedley, a former English cricketer who became manager of the San Jacinto Land Company at Riverside, California. He was the designer, builder, and engineer of the irrigation system that was installed there. The settlement was named in 1903 or 1904 when the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad (SP&LASL), which is now the Union Pacific Railroad Company (UPRR), installed a switch and a railroad station at the location. The concrete viaduct train bridge that crosses the Santa Ana River was at one time the longest concrete railroad bridge in the United States. Riverside Line
Metrolink's Riverside Line is a commuter rail line running from Los Angeles Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles to Riverside along the Union Pacific Railroad. It runs weekday peak commuter hours only, with very little midday and reverse commute service. In 2011, the average weekday ridership was 5,161 passengers. History The Riverside Line, the fourth line to be introduced, was added to the Metrolink system in June 1993.
