Jurong Pioneer Junior College (JPJC) is a junior college in Singapore offering a two-year pre-university course leading up to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination. The college was formed from the merger of Jurong Junior College and Pioneer Junior College in January 2019. History Foundation years Pioneer Junior College was established on 2 January 2000, with the inaugural principal, Mr. Kwek Hiok Chuang making the news as Singapore's youngest appointed principal in recent years. The college initially was located at the former campus of the French-German Institute of Singapore, along Science Centre Road. The College relocated to the current permanent campus at 21 Teck Whye Walk in December 2004. Choa Chu Kang
Choa Chu Kang, alternatively spelt as Chua Chu Kang and often abbreviated as CCK, is a planning area and residential town located at the north-westernmost point of the West Region of Singapore. Education in Singapore is managed by the Ministry of Education (MOE). The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (or Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level) is a GCE Advanced Level examination held annually in Singapore and is jointly conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) and the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES). The examination is taken by school candidates upon the completion of their pre-university education at junior colleges and centralised institutes, and is also open to private candidates. Jurong Junior College (JJC) was a junior college located in Jurong West, Singapore. It was the ninth junior college to be established by the Ministry of Education of Singapore. History Jurong Junior College was first situated at West Coast Road. The college started in April 1981 and opened its doors to the first batch of students in 1982. Tharman Shanmugaratnam (Tamil: தர்மன் சண்முகரத்தினம்; born 25 February 1957) is a Singaporean politician and economist who has been serving as Senior Minister of Singapore since 2019 and has also been Coordinating Minister for Social Policies since 2015 and also chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore since 2011. National Physical Fitness Award
The National Physical Fitness Award (NAPFA) is a standard physical fitness test for Singaporeans as part of Singapore's Sports For Life programme. NAPFA was launched in January 1982 as a standardised assessment of overall fitness for the general population. All primary and secondary schools in Singapore are required to participate in NAPFA tests on alternate years, in April for secondary schools and in August for primary schools respectively. It is one of the three criteria for banding for the Trim and Fit (TAF) Awards, other than the fitness index and the percentage of overweight students.
