Junior Magazine
''Junior Magazine'' was a TV programme for teenagers, which ran for 7 years on CBC Television's coast to coast network, seen Sundays from 2-3 p.m. Fred Rainsberry was largely responsible for running the Children's Television Department for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, out of their Jarvis Street studios in Toronto during the 1950s and '60s. The host was a recent arrival from England, John Clark, leaving behind his ''Just William'' image. The series began in 1955, with Clark introducing short documentary films, and the format was expanded when co-hosts were brought in, Hank Hedges presenting nature subjects, and Doug Maxwell covering sports. Producer Bruce Attridge introduced a little culture to the program with music and dance sequences, and young Roberta Maxwell joined the team in 1957 for 2 years, before exiting to pursue an acting career. John Clark (actor)
Ivan John Clark (born 1 November 1932) is an English actor, director, producer and writer. Clark is probably best known for his role as Just William in theatre and radio in the late 1940s and as the former husband of actress Lynn Redgrave, to whom he was married for 33 years. However, he established himself as a stage actor and director after moving to the United States in 1960, and became noted for directing plays featuring his wife in the 1970s beginning with ''A Better Place'' at Dublin's Gate Theatre (1973), then in America ''The Two of Us'' (1975), '' Saint Joan'' (1977–78), and a tour of ''California Suite'' (1976). In 1981, he co-directed the CBS television series ''House Calls'', in which Redgrave starred. In 1993–94 Clark produced and directed the one-woman play, '' Shakespeare for My Father'' written and performed by Lynn Redgrave, which played on Broadway and then the Haymarket Theatre in London, followed by a tour of Australia and Canada. Garrick Hagon (; born September 27, 1939) is a British-Canadian actor in film, stage, television and radio, known for his role as Biggs Darklighter in '' Star Wars: A New Hope''. Queen's University at Kingston, commonly known as Queen's University or simply Queen's, is a public research university in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Queen's holds more than of land throughout Ontario and owns Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex, England. Queen's is organized into eight faculties and schools. Fred Rogers
Fred McFeely Rogers (March 20, 1928 – February 27, 2003), commonly known as Mister Rogers, was an American television host, author, producer, and Presbyterian minister. He was the creator, showrunner, and host of the preschool television series ''Mister Rogers' Neighborhood'', which ran from 1968 to 2001. Born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, Rogers earned a bachelor's degree in music from Rollins College in 1951. Patrick Watson (December 23, 1929July 4, 2022) was a Canadian broadcaster, television and radio interviewer and host, author, commentator, actor, television writer, producer, and director for five decades. Early life Born on December 23, 1929, in Toronto, Watson attended the University of Toronto and graduated with an MA. He began working on his doctorate at the University of Michigan, but withdrew in 1955 to focus on working for CBC Television.
