Junior MAFIA
Junior M.A.F.I.A. was an American hip hop group from Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York City. The backronym M.A.F.I.A. stands for Masters At Finding Intelligent Attitudes. They were formed and mentored by New York rapper The Notorious B.I.G. In 1995, they released their debut album, ''Conspiracy''. The success of the group's singles "Player's Anthem" (US #13) and "Get Money" (US #17) helped launch the career of Lil' Kim as a solo artist. The group disbanded shortly after the murder of The Notorious B.I.G., with Lil' Kim and Lil' Cease deciding to continue on with their solo careers. In 2005, three of the members (not including Lil' Kim) released a second album under the Junior M.A.F.I.A. name as a remembrance of the group. "Player's Anthem" is the first single released from the Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s debut album ''Conspiracy (Junior M.A.F.I.A. album), Conspiracy''. Produced by Clark Kent (producer), Clark Kent, the song contains a sample of New Birth (band), The New Birth's song "You Are What I'm All About". Featuring a chorus by the Notorious B.I.G., "Player's Anthem" became a big hit for the group, peaking at 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and was certified gold by the RIAA on September 7, 1995 for sales of over 500,000 copies. The remix sounds similar to the original, but samples "Memory Lane" by Minnie Riperton. The song also contains a sample of Doug E. Fresh's "La Di Da Di" featuring Slick Rick. ''Hard Core'' is the debut studio album by American rapper Lil' Kim, released on November 12, 1996, by Undeas Recordings, Big Beat Records, and Atlantic Records. After achieving success with the hip hop group Junior M.A.F.I.A. and their album ''Conspiracy'' (1995), Kim began working on her solo album with the Notorious B.I.G. serving as the executive producer (besides this, he performed on four songs). Edward K. Archer (born May 16, 1972), known professionally as Special Ed, is an American rapper and producer. Ed is perhaps best known for the songs "I Got It Made", "Think About It" and "I'm the Magnificent" from his debut album ''Youngest in Charge'', released in 1989 when he was 17 years old. Biography Born in Brooklyn, New York City to an Afro-Jamaican father and Indo-Jamaican mother, Ed was raised in Flatbush before moving to Canarsie, and is identified with east coast hip-hop. Glenn K. Bolton, widely known as Daddy-O, is an American rapper and record producer. He began his career by founding the hip-hop group Stetsasonic. He is known as an early advocate of sampling in music. Career In 1981, Daddy-O began his career as the lead member of the band Stetsasonic, which included Prince Paul, in Brooklyn, New York. He produced and remixed songs for musical acts such as Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The B-52's, Jeffrey Osborne, Chante Moore, and Lil' Kim.
