Junior ABA League
The Junior ABA League, officially known as the U19 ABA League Championship, is a regional boy's youth age basketball tournament that is contested between the youth selections of basketball clubs from the ABA League. It is run by the ABA League JTD. It is a regional competition between men's teams from six countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia. History The ABA League Assembly, held on July 24, 2017 in Belgrade, Serbia, decided to organize the Junior League with a desire to strengthen its position as the main power for development of basketball in the region. On October 26, 2017, participants, hosts and dates for the inaugural tournament was confirmed. Mega Bemax became champions of the first-ever U19 ABA League Championship Final Four tournament, which took place in Laktaši in 2018, as they have beaten Crvena zvezda. Goga Bitadze
Goga Bitadze ( ka, გოგა ბითაძე; born 20 July 1999) is a Georgian professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Listed at and 250 lbs (113 kg), he plays the center position. He was drafted 18th overall by the Pacers in the 2019 NBA draft. Born in Sagarejo, Bitadze started playing basketball professionally with VITA Tbilisi in the VTB United League. In 2015, he moved to Serbian club Mega Basket and was loaned to Serbian League team Smederevo 1953 in the following year. Upon his return to Mega in 2017–18, Bitadze was named most valuable player (MVP) of the Junior ABA League and became a key player for the senior team. Petar Kovačević
Petar Kovačević ( sr-Cyrl, Петар Ковачевић; ?? — 1455) was a duke from the Bosnian Dinjčić noble family, which had its estates in the eastern parts of the medieval Bosnian state, in the Jadar region. He was the son of Kovač Dinjčić. Petar was one of the most prominent members of the Dinjčić dynasty. He was accepted as a citizen of Dubrovnik on 27 July 1440. In the great Christian coalition against the Ottomans, he allied with the despot Đurađ Branković. The great Christian coalition was led by the Hungarian king Vladislav I and Janko Hunyadi, the lord of Transylvania. The army numbered 25,000 Hungarian and 8,000 Serbian horsemen, including 700 of Peter's Bosnian horsemen. Together with the despot Đurđe Branković, he captured Srebrenica in 1443, but he soon abandoned Serbian despot and in 1455 he attacked him and Srebrenica on order of his king, Stjepan Tomaš. Nikola Jović ( sr-Cyrl, Никола Јовић, ; born 9 June 2003) is a Serbian professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected 27th overall by the Heat in the 2022 NBA draft. Early career Jović was born in the Royal Infirmary in Leicester, Leicestershire, England due to his professional basketball player father Ilija playing there at the time. 2020–21 Junior ABA League
The 2020–21 Junior ABA League was the fourth season of the Junior ABA League with eight men's under-19 teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia. Teams are the under-19 selections of the ABA League teams. The season will a single-elimination tournament held in Čajetina, Serbia from 21–24 May 2021. KK Mega Basket, Mega Soccerbet U19 won its second Junior ABA League title defeating KK Budućnost, Budućnost VOLI U19 in the final. Guard Nikola Jović was named the Junior ABA League MVP award. 2019–20 Junior ABA League
The 2019–20 Junior ABA League was the 3rd season of the Junior ABA League with twelve men's under-19 teams from Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia. Teams are the junior selections of the ABA League teams. On 12 March 2020, the ABA League Assembly temporarily suspended its competitions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 27 May 2020, the ABA League Assembly canceled definitely its competitions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Final tournament would have been played on 21–22 March 2020 at the Železnik Hall, Belgrade. Cibona U19 was the defending champion and as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ABA League Assembly decided not to recognize any team as the champion for the season. Roko Prkačin (born 26 November 2002) is a Croatian professional basketball player for Girona of the Liga ACB. Standing at , he plays at the power forward position. Early career Prkačin grew up in the youth system of Cibona. At a very early age he started to stand out among his teammates.
