June Martel
June Martel (born Martha Irene Greif; November 19, 1909 – November 23, 1978) was a singer and a stage and motion picture actress from Chicago, Illinois. She was a petite brunette. Singer and actress Her career began as a singer in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Martel was in the cast of the Broadway (Manhattan) play, ''Snatch as Snatch Can'', in May 1934. Other actors paired with her included Barton MacLane. Her first film role was in '' Front Page Woman'' (1935) followed by ''Going Highbrow'' (1935). The latter starred Guy Kibbee. She was the female lead in '' Fighting Youth'' (1935). Playing the part of "Betty Wilson'," Martel starred opposite Charles Farrell and Andy Devine. Nan Grey (born Eschal Loleet Grey Miller; July 25, 1918 – July 25, 1993) was an American film actress. Early years Grey was born in Houston, Texas. In 1934, at age 16, she went to Hollywood with her mother for a holiday. She was persuaded by a friend to take a screen test and ended up in pictures. Grey attended the school that Universal Studios operated for children who had film contracts. Career Film Grey's screen debut was in 1934 in Warner Bros.'s ''Firebird''. She starred opposite John Wayne in the 1936 film ''Sea Spoilers''. Grey appeared in the Universal Monsters films ''Dracula's Daughter'' (1936) and ''The Invisible Man Returns'' (1940). ''Sitting on the Moon'' is a 1936 American musical film directed by Ralph Staub and released by Republic Pictures. Plot Songwriter Danny West wakes up with an unknown woman in a taxi outside the film studio Regent Pictures Inc. where he works. He remembers little from the night before. The woman is still asleep and Danny asks the driver to drop her off where they picked her up. Danny and songwriting colleague Mike are tasked with delivering a song to studio executive Tucker. Actress Polly Blair once walked out on Tucker, and now he won't even hire her for the chorus. Polly's friend Mattie offers moral support. Danny recognize Polly from when she chose his and Mike's song "Who Am I" for her movie "Fugitive Princess". The song became a hit and was Danny's big break.
