Julián Fernández (baseball)
Julián Antonio Fernández (born December 5, 1995) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for El Águila de Veracruz of the Mexican League. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Colorado Rockies. Career Colorado Rockies Fernández signed with the Colorado Rockies in 2012 as an international free agent. He made his professional debut in 2013 with the Rookie-level DSL Rockies where he compiled a 1–1 win–loss record and a 7.94 earned run average (ERA) in ten games. In 2014, he returned to the DSL, posting a 1–0 record and 5.60 ERA in 18 relief appearances, and in 2015, he split time between the DSL and the Rookie-level Grand Junction Rockies, pitching to a combined 3–2 record, 3.55 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 28 total games between the two clubs. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the pitcher is assigned the number 1. Class A Short Season
Class A Short Season (officially Short-Season A) was a level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States from 1965 through 2020. In the hierarchy of minor league classifications, it was below Triple-A, Double-A, Class A-Advanced (created in 1990), and Class A. Teams in Class A Short Season played about 75 to 80 games per season, compared to the 130- to 140-game seasons of most professional baseball minor leagues. Injured List
In Major League Baseball (MLB), the injured list (IL) is a method for teams to remove their injured players from the roster in order to summon healthy players. Before the 2019 season, it was known as the disabled list (DL). General guidelines Players are placed on the 10-day/15-day injured list or the 60-day injured list, usually depending on the severity and/or recovery time of the injury. By rule, position players must spend a minimum of 10 days on the injured list while pitchers must spend a minimum of 15 days on the IL. The 15-day period was the standard for all players prior to 2017 when the period was shortened to 10 days. The minimum period was restored to 15 days for pitchers for the 2020 season, though the full implementation of the rule was pushed back to May 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
