Julio Hirsch (born 14 July 1956), known professionally as Julio Chávez, is an Argentine film and television actor. He was born in Buenos Aires, and received his first film role in 1973. Since 1976, he has had leading roles in Argentine cinema and, more recently, in Argentine television. Buenos Aires ( or ; ), officially the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires ( es, link=no, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires), is the capital and primate city of Argentina. The history of the Jews in Argentina goes back to the early sixteenth century, following the Jewish expulsion from Spain. Sephardi Jews fleeing persecution immigrated with explorers and colonists to settle in what is now Argentina, in spite of being forbidden from travelling to the American colonies.
