Gilles Perrault (born Jacques Peyroles; 9 March 1931) is a French writer and journalist. Biography Born in Paris, Perrault attended the Collège Stanislas de Paris and then studied at the Institut d'études politiques, eventually becoming a lawyer, a profession he worked in for five years. After the success of his essay ''Les parachutistes'' (1961), inspired by his military service in Algeria, he became a journalist and wrote articles about Nehru's India, the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the problems of African Americans in the United States. He then investigated less well-known aspects of World War II. Since 1961, he has lived in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, Manche, upon which he wrote the book ''Les gens d'ici'' ("''People from here''") ''Le Secret du jour J'' (1964) (''Secrets of D-Day'', 1974) won a prize from the Comité d'action de la Résistance and was an international bestseller. Julien Bertheau
Julien Bertheau (19 June 1910 – 28 October 1995) was a French actor. Biography Born in Algiers, Algeria, before making his debut at the Comédie-Française on 18 December 1936, he worked as manager of the Theatre de la Porte Saint-Martin, then he studied with Charles Dullin at the Atelier Theatre, appeared in plays at the Comédie des Champs-Elysées and finally worked with Louis Jouvet. He left the Comédie-French after twenty-two years. In 1961, he starred in '' Madame Sans-Gene'' opposite Sophia Loren. Bertheau was one of the favorite actors of Luis Buñuel, appearing in his ''Cela s'appelle l'aurore'' (1955), playing a maitre d'hotel in '' La Voie lactée'' (1969), a bishop in '' Le Charme discret de la bourgeoisie'' (1972) and a policeman in '' Le Fantôme de la liberté'' (1974). Raymond Gérôme (17 May 1920 — 3 February 2002) was a Belgian-born, French stage and screen actor. Gérôme was born as Raymond Joseph Léon De Backer in Koekelberg. He made his first stage appearance in 1946, in a stage production of ''Jeanne d'Arc au bûcher'' and he entered films in 1954. He is best known to English speaking audiences for his roles as The Commander in ''The Brain'' and Inspector Renard in ''The Greengage Summer''. In later life, he lent his voice to dubbing - he provided the voice of Governor Ratcliffe in the French release of ''Pocahontas''. Catherine Sauvage (26 May 1929 – 20 March 1998) was a French singer and actress. Early life Born Marcelle Jeanine Saunier in Nancy, France, she moved with her family in 1940 to the Free Zone in Annecy. After high school, she turned to the theater, performing under the name Janine Saulnier.
