Juliane Klein
Juliane Klein (born 3 November 1966) is a German composer and publishing director. Life Born in Berlin, Klein began studying clarinet, piano, musical composition and improvisation at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin as a young student in 1978 and was a lecturer for composition at the same university from 1989 to 1992. Together with Thomas Bruns, she founded the "Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin" in 1987, which she directed until 1991. From 1993 to 1997 she continued her postgraduate studies with Helmut Lachenmann in Stuttgart. In 1999 she founded the music publishing house "Edition Juliane Klein". As a composer, she received residency scholarships at the Pushkinskaya Desyat St. Petersburg (1995), the Cité internationale des arts (1997), in (2001), in the artists' courtyard "Die Höge" (2002), and at the Rheinsberg Music Academy (2003) and the Villa Massimo ("Casa Baldi"), Rome (2004). Musical composition can refer to an original piece or work of music, either vocal or instrumental, the structure of a musical piece or to the process of creating or writing a new piece of music. Donaueschinger Musiktage
The Donaueschingen Festival (german: Donaueschinger Musiktage, links=no) is a festival for new music that takes place every October in the small town of Donaueschingen in south-western Germany. Founded in 1921, it is considered the oldest festival for contemporary classical music in the world, and among the best-known and most prestigious. Eva-Maria Houben (born 15 January 1955) is a German composer, organist, pianist, musicologist and university lecturer. Life Born in Rheinberg, Houben grew up in Kamp-Lintfort. Her mother worked as a special education teacher, her father was a machine steiger and presbyter in the Protestant village church of . There, Houben provided the organ service during her secondary school time. After her Abitur she studied school music at the Folkwang University of the Arts (1974–78) and artistic organ playing with Gisbert Schneider (1978–80). Her teachers at the Folkwang Hochschule also included Mauricio Rosenmann Taub (music theory) and Ludger Maxsein (piano). Harmonia Mundi is an independent record label which specializes in classical music, jazz, and world music (on the World Village label). Amelie Fried (Ulm, 6 September 1958) is a German writer and television presenter. Her father, Kurt Fried, is the creator-publisher of ''Schwäbische Donauzeitung'', nowadays a part of Südwest Presse. She studied journalism and film at university. She has worked extensively in television and has published numerous books. Her 2008 book ''Schuhhaus Pallas. Freiburger Barockorchester (Freiburg Baroque Orchestra) is a German Baroque orchestra founded in 1987, with the mission statement: "to enliven the world of Baroque music with new sounds". History The orchestra is based in Freiburg im Breisgau.
