Julian Okai
Julian Ebenezer N. A. Okai (born 26 February 1993) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Isthmian League Division One North club Great Wakering Rovers. Career He made his debut on 7 November 2009 for Southend United in their 3–0 away defeat to Gillingham in the FA Cup First Round, replacing Francis Laurent in the 89th minute as a substitute. Okai made a total of 49 appearances and scored 10 goals for Southend's youth team, and 16 appearances in the club's reserve team. It was announced in March 2011, that Okai was not to be offered a new contract at Southend and was to be released at the end of the 2010–11 season. He then went on to sign for Isthmian League Premier Division club Concord Rangers and then Isthmian League Division One North club Great Wakering Rovers in November 2011. Southend-on-Sea (), commonly referred to as Southend (), is a coastal city and unitary authority area with borough status in southeastern Essex, England. Francis Laurent (born 6 January 1986) is a French footballer who last played for FC Chambly. Career Laurent started his career in his native France signing for FC Sochaux where he made twelve appearances in his first season. He took the decision to pursue his career in Germany, moving to SV Eintracht, scoring four goals in 14 games. He then went on to sign for 1. FSV Mainz 05 where his development as a player continued. Laurent signed a one-year contract with Southend United on 28 August 2008, following an impressive trial. On 18 October 2008, he came off the bench for his first league appearance and scored the match winner in the 71st minute heading in Peter Clarke's cross. The Cal State Fullerton Titans (also known as CSUF or Fullerton Titans) are the athletic teams that represent California State University, Fullerton. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time. The 2009–10 FA Cup (known as The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON for sponsorship reasons) was the 129th season of the world's oldest football knockout competition; the FA Cup. As in the previous year, 762 clubs were accepted for the competition. One club, Newcastle Blue Star, folded before the fixtures were released. As they were scheduled to enter the competition in the First Round Qualifying, their opponents in this round received a walkover. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders.
