Ferencvárosi Torna Club is a Hungarian women's handball team from Budapest, that is part of the multi-sports club Ferencvárosi TC. Nicknamed ''Fradi'', the team plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the top level championship in Hungary. They are one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won eleven Hungarian championships and as many Hungarian cup titles. FTC also enjoy a good reputation in continental competitions: they lifted the EHF Cup Winners' Cup trophy in 1978, 2011, and 2012, and they were also crowned as the EHF Cup winners in 2006. Rostov-Don (russian: Ростов-Дон) is a female handball team from Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Established in 1965, the club was called Rostselmash until 2002. Rostov-Don is competing in the Russian Super League. They have won the league seven times, in 1994, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022. The club have won the Women's EHF Cup in 2016–17, and was runner-up of the 2014–15 edition after losing the finals against the Danish team TTH Holstebro. In the 2017–18 EHF Champions League, the club reached the Final 4 tournament for the first time in the club's history, where they finished fourth. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end.
