Jules Noriac
Jules Noriac, real name Claude, Antoine, Jules Cairon, (24 April 1827 – 1 October 1882), was a French journalist, playwright, writer, librettist and theatre director. Biography Cairon was first a journalist and columnist in many newspapers. He started successively at the ''Corsair'' in 1850, the ''Gazette de France'' in 1851, the National Assembly in 1853, then as editor of ''Le Figaro'' weekly of which he was one of the main editors. He worked simultaneously with the ''Revue fantaisiste'', the ''Gazette de Paris'', ''La Silhouette'', the ''Revue des Beaux Arts'', ''L'Univers illustré'' and became successively chief-editor of the ''Figaro-programme'', the ''Soleil'' and the ''Nouvelles'' (1865–66). He also wrote plays, operetta libretti and novels under the pseudonym Jules Noriac. Nadar
Gaspard-Félix Tournachon (5 April 1820 – 20 March 1910), known by the pseudonym Nadar, was a French photographer, caricaturist, journalist, novelist, balloon (aircraft), balloonist, and proponent of Aircraft#Heavier-than-air – aerodynes, heavier-than-air flight. In 1858, he became the first person to take aerial photographs. Photographic portraits by Nadar are held by many of the great national collections of photographs. His son, Paul Nadar (1856–1939), continued the studio after his death. Life Gaspard-Félix Tournachon (also known as Nadar) was born in early April 1820 in Paris, though some sources state he was born in Lyon. His father, Victor Tournachon, was a printer and bookseller. Philippe Emile François Gille (10 December 1831 – 19 March 1901) was a French dramatist and opera librettist, who was born and died in Paris. He wrote over twenty librettos between 1857 and 1893, the most famous of which are Massenet's ''Manon'' and Delibes' ''Lakmé''. Although Gille studied law and was a clerk for a time at the Préfecture de la Seine, he became secretary of the Théâtre Lyrique then from 1869 an art and music critic for ''Le Figaro''.Smith C.
