Jarad Anthony Higgins (December 2, 1998 – December 8, 2019), known professionally as Juice Wrld (pronounced "juice world"; stylized as Juice WRLD), was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was a leading figure in the emo rap and SoundCloud rap genres which garnered mainstream attention during the mid-late 2010s. His stage name was derived from the film ''Juice (1992 film), Juice'' (1992) and he stated it represents "taking over the world". Higgins began his career as an independent artist in 2015 and signed a recording contract with Lil Bibby#Grade A Productions, Grade A Productions and Interscope Records in 2017. He gained recognition with the diamond-certified Single (music), single "Lucid Dreams (Juice Wrld song), Lucid Dreams", which peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Interscope Records
Interscope Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group through its Interscope Geffen A&M imprint. Founded in late 1990 by Jimmy Iovine and Ted Field as a $20 million joint venture with Atlantic Records of Warner Music Group and Interscope Communications, it differed from most record companies by letting A&R staff control decisions and allowing artists and producers full creative control.
