Judith "Judy" Ward is a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing the 30th Senatorial district in Blair County, Pennsylvania. She is registered as Republican. Education and career Ward graduated from Hollidaysburg High School and acquired a nursing degree from Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She held a job as a registered nurse for 22 years, then for Allegheny Lutheran Social Services, for Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School, and as medical, health and wellness coordinator at Ward Transport and Logistics. She founded All About Towne, a relocation assistance company. Ward is also a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University's Rural and Urban Leadership (RULE) Program. John Eichelberger
John Eichelberger (born September 1, 1958) of Blair Township, Pennsylvania is an American politician and former Pennsylvania State Senator. He is a member of the Republican Party. He represented the 30th district of the Pennsylvania State Senate. Eichelberger gained notoriety following his defeat of Senate President Pro-Tempore Robert Jubelirer in the May 2006 primary election. In 2018, he ran to represent Pennsylvania's 13th congressional district in the U.S. House, though lost his party's nomination in the primary. Biography Prior to his career in government, Eichelberger was the President of an insurance brokerage in Altoona, Pennsylvania. In 1995, he was elected to the Blair County Commission. He was re-elected in 1999 and 2003. The 2018 elections for the Pennsylvania State Senate were held on November 6, 2018, with 25 of 50 districts being contested. Primary elections were held on May 15, 2018. The term of office for those elected in 2018 began when the Senate convened in January 2019. The ''Altoona Mirror'' is a daily newspaper located in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It is the hometown newspaper for Altoona and serves all of Blair County as well as parts of surrounding counties. History The newspaper was founded on June 13, 1874 as ''The Evening Mirror'' by Harry E. Slep and George J. Akers (Slep & Akers Company).
