''Judy Forgot'' is a play by Avery Hopwood (New York, October 6, 1910) that was adapted into a 1915 film. The film is a five part comedy. Marie Cahill starred in the film. T. Hayes Hunter directed. It was produced by Universal Film Manufacturing. It was advertised as a screaming farce comedy hit filmed in five acts. Raymond L. Schrock wrote the screenplay. Cahill portrayed Judy Evans in the play and film. She loses her memory in a train wreck. Her memory is later restored after an auto accident and she returns to her marital partner. Avery Hopwood
James Avery Hopwood (May 28, 1882 – July 1, 1928) was an American playwright of the Jazz Age. He had four plays running simultaneously on Broadway in 1920. Early life Hopwood was born to James and Jule Pendergast Hopwood on May 28, 1882, in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Cleveland's West High School in 1900. In 1901, he began attending the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. However, his family experienced financial difficulties, so for his second year he transferred to Adelbert College. He returned to the University of Michigan in the fall of 1903, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1905. Career Hopwood started out as a journalist for the ''Cleveland Leader'' as its New York correspondent, but within a year had his first play, ''Clothes'' (1906), produced on Broadway, with the aid of playwright Channing Pollock. Marie Cahill
Marie Cahill (December 29, 1866 – August 23, 1933) was a Broadway stage actress and vocalist. Her parents were Irish immigrants Richard and Mary (née Groegen) Cahill. Stage career Cahill began her career in the late 1880s first in her native Brooklyn and then on Broadway. In 1902 in the show '' Sally in Our Alley'' she introduced the song "Under the Bamboo Tree", which became her signature song and one of the most famous songs from the turn of the century.Burton, Jack. Sam Handy
Samuel B. Hardy (March 21, 1883 – October 16, 1935) was an American stage and film actor who appeared in feature films during the silent film, silent and early sound film, sound eras. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Hardy attended Yale but left there to become an actor on stage. He entered the world of film with Biograph Studios. Hardy appeared in about 85 movies between 1915 and 1935, he was often in comedic roles. His best-known role to modern audiences is perhaps Charles Weston, the theatrical agent, in the 1933 film classic ''King Kong (1933 film), King Kong''. Hardy appeared opposite Marie Cahill in the 1910 play ''Judy Forgot'' and the 1915 film adaptation. Hardy became ill while he was working in the film ''Shoot the Chutes'', starring Eddie Cantor. He did not survive emergency surgery at a hospital and died of intestinal problems.
