Scottish Exhibition And Conference Centre
The SEC Centre (originally known as the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre until 2017) is Scotland's largest exhibition centre, located in Glasgow, Scotland. It is one of the three main venues within the Scottish Event Campus. Since the opening of the original buildings in 1985, the complex has undergone two major expansions; the first being the SEC Armadillo in 1997, and then the OVO Hydro in 2013. The venue's holding company SEC Limited, is 91% owned by Glasgow City Council and 9% owned by private investors. It is probably best known for hosting concerts, particularly in Hall 4 and Hall 3. Judo competitions at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland were held from 24 July to 26 July at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. Judo returned to the program after last being held at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. England and home nation Scotland dominated the tournament, with six golds apiece, England leading the table on minor medals. Wales and South Africa won a single gold medal each. 2002 Commonwealth Games
The 2002 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XVII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Manchester 2002 were held in Manchester, England, from 25 July to 4 August, 2002. The 2002 Games were to be hosted in the United Kingdom to coincide with the Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II, head of the Commonwealth, and Manchester was selected for the 2002 Games ahead of London using a recycled part of the project, which lost the 2000 Summer Olympics and Paralympics to Sydney, Australia. Sarah Clark (judoka)
Sarah Clark (born 3 January 1978) is a British judoka, who has competed at three Olympic Games. Judo career Clark came to prominence when winning the Scottish Championships in 1997. In 2000 and 2001 she won back to back half-middleweight British titles at the British Judo Championships. In 2004, she was selected to represent Great Britain at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Greece, she competed in the half-middleweight (-63 kg) category and reached the last 16, where she was beaten by the eventual silver medalist, Claudia Heill. She then lost to Ronda Rousey in the first round of the repechage. Also during 2004 she won a bronze medal at the 2004 European Judo Championships, in Bucharest.
