Montreal Biodome
The Montreal Biodome (french: Biodôme de Montréal) is a facility located at Olympic Park in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, that allows visitors to walk through replicas of four ecosystems found in the Americas. The building was originally constructed for the 1976 Olympic Games as a velodrome with 2,600 seats. It hosted both track cycling and judo events. Renovations on the building began in 1989 and in 1992 the indoor nature exhibit was opened. The Montreal Biodome is one of four facilities that make part of the largest natural science museum complex in Canada, Space for Life, which also includes the Montreal Insectarium, Montreal Botanical Garden, and Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. Yona Melnik ( he, יונה מלניק; born 27 May 1949) is an Israeli former judoka and current coach. He is the first Israeli judoka to achieve 8th dan from the International Judo Federation. Biography Melnik is Jewish, and was born in Kassel, West Germany. He won the Israeli national championship in judo 12 times between 1968 and 1980 in the welterweight (below 70 kilograms) category, and twice in the open division. He won gold medals in judo at the 1969 Maccabiah Games and at the 1973 Maccabiah Games. Wayne Erdman
Wayne Erdman (born February 3, 1952, in Kitchener, Ontario) is a Canadian retired judoka who represented Canada in Judo at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He won the gold medal at the 1975 Pan American Games in the men's lightweight division (– 70 kg). Erdman holds the rank of 7th dan and is the chair of the Grading Board for Judo Ontario. Patrick Mitsugi Burris (born December 28, 1950) is a retired competitive judoka who represented the United States at the 1972 Summer Olympic Games in Munich and the 1976 Summer Olympic Games in Montreal. He won the bronze medal at the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City in the men's lightweight division at 70 kg. Burris is a five time US national senior AAU champion, including an unprecedented four straight championships.
