Judi Spiers
Judith Marilyn Spiers (born 15 March 1953) is a British radio and television presenter. Career Initially training to be an actress at the Rose Bruford College, Spiers began her broadcasting career at Westward Television in 1977, then the ITV station for south-west England. She impressed in the birthday slot with Gus Honeybun with cheeky humour. In short order, she moved to the ''What's Ahead'' entertainment guide. She hosted local beauty contests ''Mr TSW'' and ''Miss TSW'', reflecting the new south-west station TSW TSW produced a nationally networked daytime chat show ''Judi!'', which ran for six editions. Eventually, Spiers moved to national television, as a presenter on BBC One's daily magazine programme '' Pebble Mill'' from October 1991 until August 1994. In 1995 she co-hosted ''The Alternative DJ'' with Peter Jeffrey and Oliver Senton. She also hosted a Saturday show on BBC Radio 2 between 1994 and 1998. Plymouth
Plymouth () is a port city status in the United Kingdom, city and unitary authority in South West England. It is located on the south coast of Devon, approximately south-west of Exeter and south-west of London. It is bordered by Cornwall to the west and south-west. Peter Jeffrey
Peter Jeffrey (18 April 1929 – 25 December 1999) was an English character actor. Starting his performing career on stage, he would later have many roles in television and film. Early life Jeffrey was born in Bristol, the son of Florence Alice (née Weight) and Arthur Winfred Gilbert Jeffrey. He was educated at Harrow School and Pembroke College, Cambridge, but had no formal training as an actor. Career Theatre Jeffrey spent many years on stage with the Bristol Old Vic and the Royal Shakespeare Company. BBC Radio Devon is the BBC's local radio station serving the county of Devon. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds from studios in the Mannamead area of Plymouth. According to RAJAR, the station has a weekly audience of 142,000 listeners and a 7.1% share as of September 2022. History BBC Radio Devon started broadcasting on 17 January 1983, replacing the BBC Radio 4 regional breakfast show ''Morning Sou'West''. On the same day, BBC Radio Cornwall started broadcasting, as did BBC Breakfast television. When broadcasting started, the new studios in Exeter had not yet been finished, so BBC Radio Devon was broadcast from portable cabins for the first few weeks. Television South West (TSW) was the ITV franchise holder for the South West England region from 1 January 1982 until 31 December 1992, broadcasting from studios at Derry's Cross in Plymouth, Devon. History Origins and Launch On 28 December 1980 TSW was awarded the contract to serve the South West England region from the night of 31 December 1981 at 12 midnight for a 10-year period, succeeding incumbent Westward Television, which had served the area since 1961.
