Judi Lines (born 1951, in Lincoln, England, Lincoln, UK) is a former United Kingdom, British television and radio broadcaster. Lines spent three years (1973-6) as a continuity announcer for Anglia Television before joining BBC East as a newsreader and presenter for the nightly regional news magazine, ''BBC Look East, Look East'' and worked on BBC Radio 4's regional service for the Eastern Counties. By 1984, Lines had joined Tyne Tees Television as an announcer, replacing Kathy Secker. As part of her continuity duties, she also read regional news bulletins and presented two regular features; ''Lookaround'' (a what's on guide) and ''The Birthday Spot''. ''BBC Look East'' is the name of two separate BBC regional television news programmes for the East of England made by BBC East. History The first BBC television news bulletins for the East of England began on 5 October 1959. These bulletins were only three minutes in length. The bulletin was extended to ten minutes in 1962 and named ''East Anglia at Six Ten'', and then relaunched as the twenty minute programme ''Look East'' on 28 September 1964. Great North Radio
Great North Radio, or G.N.R as it was sometimes called, launched in March 1989 using the AM frequencies of Metro Radio and Radio Teesbr> This happened after the Metro Radio group decided to split the FM and AM frequencies. The station was broadcast on both frequencies rather than as two separate stations. GNR's output consisted of mellow music from the 1950s through to the 1980s, including current hits that fitted the format. Fenwick () is an independent chain of department stores in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1882 by John James Fenwick in Newcastle upon Tyne, and today consists of nine branches.
